Eighth grade students participate in a Design Challenge as their last project of the year. They were given limited supplies and classtime to build a 3-dimensional structure that would stand on it’s own and include a moving part. The results are an excellent display of creativity, problem solving and teamwork!
Congratulations to the following art students whose outstanding artwork will be on display in the Cincinnati Arts Association Student Art Show at the Aronoff Center. Artwork will be exhibited May 5 – 13. Students represented are: Ellie H., grade 2; Maddie W., grade 5; Megan M., grade 5; Izzie Z., grade 3; Cameron H., grade 1; Samantha C., grade 1; Josie S., grade 6; and Wyatt R., grade 4.
Student artists and teachers are being recognized at the annual Ohio Statehouse Student Art Exhibit. The exhibit takes place in the Ohio Statehouse Map Room in Columbus, Ohio. Kate M., grade 2, is one of four students representing the Southwest region of Ohio. Congratulations to Kate and her exceptional effort in Art!
Use your talents this summer to create beautiful artwork and learn new art techniques. Projects will include clay, printmaking, silk painting, sculpture, book making, drawing, painting and more!

The ScholasticArt Competition strives to recognize students in junior high and high school for their incredible gifts in the visual arts. This year our region, Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, received over 4000 works of art. The judges selected the many winners because it showed exceptional use of techniques/ skills and creative/ original ideas. The gold key (the highest award) winners’ art work from this show will travel to New York in March and will compete for national recognition. Artwork will be on display at the Art Academy of Cincinnati until February 9th.

March is Youth Art Month and we are celebrating with after-school art workshops! Students will paint a clay tile using clay glazes and a fun bubble technique. Workshops are open to all students in grades 1-8. The cost is $10.00 and includes all art supplies and a snack and drink. Please return the attached form to your art teacher as soon as possible. Each workshop date is limited to 30 students.
